HCM City to provide COVID vaccination through Tết

HCM CITY – Thirty one COVID- 一 九 vaccination centres will remain open in HCM City during Tết, with the rest closing for the holidays.

According to the HCM City Centre for Disease Control (HCDC), they include the District  一 Hospital, District  三 Medical Centre and FV hospital in District  七.

Thủ Đức City has one each in Tam Phú, Linh Đông and Tam Bình wards.

The city announced vaccination plans for spring last week which no longer require registration in advance. 

According to the HCDC, most of the city’s COVID deaths are in “high-risk” groups comprising older people, those with underlying medical conditions or have not been fully vaccinated.

People who have recovered from COVID should also be vaccinated since they could be reinfected.

With the effectiveness of vaccine decreasing over time, booster shots improve protection against the Omicron and other possible variants.

Booster shots have been given to over  四. 五 million people so far. 

The city aims to fully vaccinate everyone aged  一 二 and above by the end of February.
